Beruwala is the closest proper beach to the airport — 75 minutes south — and Eden is the biggest all-inclusive on it. If your idea of holiday is 'land, beach, repeat,' this is the easiest version of Sri Lanka.
Barceló run a generous all-inclusive: full board, soft drinks, beers and house spirits included. There are four restaurants, three bars, a daily activities program, and 158 rooms so the resort feels social without being chaotic.
The beach is wide and sheltered — Beruwala is in a natural cove so the water stays swimmable when the open coast gets choppy. Watersports school on-site for snorkelling, jet skis and catamaran sailing.
Gym is full-equipment with a sea view, and there's a daily fitness class schedule (aqua aerobics, yoga, Pilates). The spa runs Ayurvedic and Swedish treatments at sensible prices.
Family-friendly without being kid-centric — there's a kids' pool and play zone but adults have their own pool wing.
This is the easiest 'don't think, just relax' option. Pair with a 2-night Cultural Triangle add-on if you want one big day of sightseeing.
